Each pieces is hand painted highlighting specific features in the design while leaving the rest of piece in its natural color. The king is 3.625 tall and has a base diameter of 1.25. The pieces are solid cast zinc formed by the old-world lost-wax casting process and are brass and nickel plated. The pieces are lacquered to prevent them from ever tarnishing and have red felt pads embossed with the Italfama logo.
